the problem is that when i look at my serverlist all the servers appear as "down" [and i cant join them] except for one or two that i see as "playing/open/loading", example: i tried changing from wireless to connecting to my modem and turning my firewall off but i still cant see all the servers :\ funkyfellow has the same prob (i think) as me: lxalliance.net/smf/index.php?topic=1393.0

what port are you using? Try switching the port numbers too.

this works sometimes 1. Right click My Network Places and click Properties. 2. Right click your connection(Usually Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection) and click Properties. 3. Click the advanced tab and make sure the check box beside windows XP firewall is off(If you don't care, if you want to leave it on then proceed to step 4) If you've never seen the above window before then chances are this is why you can't host! 4. So you want to keep your windows XP firewall on? no problem! You just have to allow traffic through port 23400, so check the box and click Settings at the bottom right of the Window(you may have to wait a while). 5. Click Add and type the following: For the IP address click Start->Run and type "cmd" then type ipconfig in the command prompt - type this where I have typed "Your Local IP address". 6. Click OK and you're done.
